Development of tab-spars
The ALR lightweight structures team has developed the complex manufacturing process for tab-spars for airliners. The example shows a sandwich prepreg strucure. The requirement for precise shape asked for metal tools instead of vacuum bag technique in an autoclave. The ALR solution was successful and spars are already used in aircraft in scheduled airline operations.
